1st WRX Club Meet of 2016

The first meeting of the WRX Club of WA for 2016 was held on 2nd March at “Japline” in Malaga. The event was hosted by Mick Steel, a specialist Subaru repairer and privateer Subaru rally driver and attended by some 36 members and their guests.

Club Treasurer, Wayne Henderson, and Mick invited Darren Simpson from Subaru Parts WA along with his famous BBQ trailer to cater for the evening.

As well as providing the BBQ trailer and food on offer for the evening, Subaru Parts WA also donated three door prizes; a full service kit, Subaru gift pack and a Subaru first aid kit.

During the evening there were presentations on Club activities and a talk from Mick on the complexities of building and maintaining a group N rally car. Mick kindly brought along his own rally car (previously driven by Cody Crocker) for members to check out.

Besides handling the catering for the evening, Darren spoke to members about the importance of supporting their local repairers and dealer network using genuine Subaru replacement parts. Darren also advised that the Subaru Appointed Preferred Collision Network has the necessary skill set and training in the unfortunate event of panel damage, to get their WRX looking brand new.

The evening was a great success and everyone left more informed and with a greater sense of support for the brand.
