AMCAP secures contract with FMG
AMCAP is pleased to announce that it has secured a contract with Fortescue Metals Group (FMG) to supply individual filters and maintenance kits for FMG’s heavy mining equipment located in the iron ore rich region of the Pilbara in Western Australia.
AMCAP will provide maintenance kits that include filters, gaskets, o rings, sump plugs and a range of other items required during the regular servicing of FMG’s onsite machinery. The maintenance kits will be assembled and packed by AMCAP’s Skipper transport division’s mining team. AMCAP has previously supplied parts to FMG for their fleet of Fuso light trucks.
The contract, which is for an initial period of two years, will deliver significant cost benefits and improvements to FMG’s productivity through more effective inventory management as a result of precise maintenance kit building and waste reduction. AMCAP’s provision of longer life filtration products will also lead to extended service intervals and reduced operational downtime.
Commenting on the new contract, AMCAP Executive General Manager Geoff Bailey said, “We are really pleased to be selected by FMG as a service provider for their heavy mining equipment. Our long term goal is to become the partner of choice in the provision of maintenance supplies to the mining industry.”
“This contract is of significant strategic importance to AMCAP. Our successful history over the past 20 years of supplying a diverse range of products and services to mining operators including Rio Tinto, BHP Billiton, Pilbara Manganese, South 32 and now FMG demonstrates our trusted partnerships with leaders in the mining sector and our capability to deliver cost benefits and productivity improvements” he said.
