McCann Racing to race 525 GM crate motor from the US

The Pro Dirt Late Model Series racing kicks off again in October at Perth Motorplex and AMCAP is once again proud to be supporting Veronica McCann and her racing team.

The team has taken a different approach this season arming themselves with a new crate motor from General Motors (GM) in the USA.  The series has a generally open engine rule with certain boundaries and last season it was decided to remove the big 430ci engine and replace it with an all-aluminium 525 crate motor that GM produce specifically for oval track racing. The motor produces just over 500 horsepower and is based on the LS3 which is found in your current day Holden special vehicles. This motor change will allow the team to compete in 19 nights of racing over the summer. The season includes 15 rounds of Australia’s toughest Late Model series, the USA tour which will be held in Western Australia, plus a trip to Victoria to compete in the 2017 National Titles.

AMCAP wishes Veronica and McCann Racing all the best for the upcoming season.
